Heritage Bank Touches Aspects Of Life

Heritage bank is a young bank but what the bank has achieved in the shortest time is highly commendable. Many are of the notion that a bank’s fundamental purpose is to keep depositors’ monies.

Truly, depositors monies are safe with Heritage bank but is keeping such funds all there is?

There is more worth knowing about Heritage bank. First of all, the bank acts like a life-saver. It saved Societe Generale bank and Enterprise bank. This means that all customers of the respective banks had their funds saved. That is why big guns like Dangote and Rano Oil are customers of Heritage bank.

Heritage bank supports SMEs. The bank has a youth scheme of about 1500 customers on the NYSC scheme. On the National Youth Council Joint Programmer, Heritage bank has over 50,000 customers currently.

Heritage bank has a school feeding programme in Kaduna state. The bank also has a farming youth programme in Rivers State that caters for close to 50,000 youths.

Heritage bank has a network of supermarkets, City Supermarkets, which just came up and which is being put together from the scratch.
The bank nurtured these from the corner shops and today they are established in about five places.

The NEXT Titan is an initiative by Heritage bank to raise excellent future entrepreneurs. YIEDP stands for Youth Innovative Entrepreneurship Development Programme. The Programme is aimed at harnessing the latent entrepreneurial spirit among the teeming youths by providing timely and affordable loans to implement their business ideas. And once again, Heritage bank is proudly involved in YIEDP.

How many banks actually accomplished more than this at their first few years of establishment? With Heritage Bank, you can boldly say "I am proud of my Heritage."

How VPN Can Help Your Small Business

VPNs have been used for business for a long time before the Internet became as popular as it is today. In fact, the reason why VPNs even exist is that co-workers needed a way to share files between remote computers privately over a wide area network. Since then, VPNs have considerably evolved and they’re now used for a variety of purposes, such as enhanced security and bypassing geo-blockades.

How Does a VPN Work?

VPN stands for virtual private network, and essentially that’s exactly what it is: A private network of computers shared over a WAN such as the Internet. Modern VPNs work by connecting your PC to a proxy server, where it’s sent through a secure tunneling protocol such as OpenVPN or L2TP, given a new IP address and encrypted, before accessing an outside server on the web.

Since the connection is encrypted, it makes it much harder for a third party to eavesdrop on your Internet traffic and get their hands on any of your data. Also, since you receive a new IP address, you can make it seem as if you’re browsing the Internet from anywhere in the world (as long as there’s a proxy server to connect to in said part of the world), which has a myriad of uses all on its own. Besides that, there are a lot of other benefits that your small business can gain from using a VPN, and here are just a few of them.

DDoS Protection

DDoS is short for distributed denial of service, and put simply, what a DDoS attack basically does is use a large number of computers to assault a website with simultaneous requests, until the website can’t take anymore and shuts down.

These kinds of attacks happen every day if you’re not careful enough, and they can happen to you if you don’t have the right kind of protection. The good news is that most good VPN providers offer some kind of protection from DDoS attacks on their servers, and since your connection is hidden “behind” the VPN if the attack can’t get through their servers then it can’t reach your website either.

Increased Security

We mentioned that a VPN makes your connection more secure, and it does so by doing something to the data that you transmit via the Internet. What it does is it splits all your outgoing and incoming data into smaller pieces referred to as packets that carry small bits of information over a protocol such as HTTP or BitTorrent.

But that’s not all. For additional security, most VPNs will place these data packets inside other data packets, in a process called encapsulation. The outer layer provides you with additional encryption, so the packets can essentially be read only by the client (you, in this case) and the VPN server.

Additionally, before you can even connect to a VPN, the client computer and the remote access server you’re connecting are required to have a certain dedicated software installed, in order to create a functioning connection. This is the first layer of security that any VPN will depend on, and unlike a normal Internet connection, a VPN server will require you to input your credentials and authenticate yourself as a legitimate user of the connection.

Sharing Files Safely

Having a VPN for your small business means that whatever files you share with each other are off-limits to the rest of the Internet since they never leave your private network. It’s a great way to ensure there are no nasty data leaks and that no one is monitoring anything you transmit online, just as if you’d use an offline, local area connection to share files. You can even safely use P2P connections behind a VPN, which is one of the most efficient ways to share information these days.

Wireless Networks

Finally, we’re going to say a couple of things about public Wi-Fi, the risks involved with using it, and how a VPN can help you out in that department. Since public networks have a large number of devices connected to them at the same time, that means that you’re essentially in a LAN with everyone that’s on the same public network that you’re using at the given moment.

This gives hackers a much shorter route to your laptop or handheld device and any potential sensitive, business-related information you might be sharing over your connection. Internet banking inquiries, online purchases and anything of the sort is highly risky to do over a public network, so if you have to do them it’s highly recommended that you use a VPN to encrypt your connection from end to end, and decrease the chances that your financial information will fall into the wrong hands.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are plenty of ways in which a VPN can help you out if you happen to be running a small business. A paid VPN will generally work better than a free one, but it’s up to you to choose which one you’ll go for. There are a lot of good articles out there that analyze VPNs and inform you about their pros and cons, so we’re pretty certain that you’ll be able to find one that suits your needs.

The Remarkable Truth About Heritage Bank You May Never Know

There is always a story for every establishment. The creation of the earth has a story and has been told countless number of times in religious institutions. Financial establishments also have stories of their origin and having to know such will be very important in helping one make wise financial decisions.

In late 1980s, a financial institution came into existence known as Societe Generale Bank, Nigeria (SGBN). On January 2006, SGBN operational license was revoked during the re-capitalisation policy in the banking sector by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) then under the chairmanship of Chukwuma Soludo.

If a man should die, can he live again? That was a question asked by Job in the Bible. In a sense Societe Generale Bank, Nigeria became a dead bank.

Heritage bank

The Resurrection Of A New Bank

Some religions believe in the resurrection hope (Acts 24:15) and investors too believe in resilience. Sometime in the immediate past, a group of young men and investors, came together and approached the owners of Societe Generale Bank (SGBN).  After a meeting between SGBN, the new investors and the CBN, a new bank came into existence. This was the re-birth of the erstwhile Societe Generale Bank transformed to an innovative commercial bank with regional authorization called Heritage Bank.

Emerging from the ashes of Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, these group of professionals led by Mr. Ifie Sekibo, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Bank with proven track record in turn-around management, embarked on yet another remarkable mission. In October 2014,  Heritage Bank acquired Enterprise bank which was on the verge of death to become a national bank.

Heritage Bank has an historic importance and banking culture. Although, still very young, Heritage Bank is among Nigeria leading banks with an excellent service culture hinged on working with each customer to create a name and heritage for today and for future generations.

What No Bank Has Ever Done Before

After the suspension of the Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria license in 2006, depositors lost their money and all hope was dim that they would never get their funds back. This has always been the case in most banks in the world when they close down.

For me this is a big commendation - Heritage Bank was able to make customers get back their monies years after. Depositors who indicated their interest to convert their deposits to shares were allowed to do so.

Enterprise bank in 2014 had about 160 branches; Heritage Bank had just 11 branches but yet the smaller entity (Heritage Bank) kept alive a bigger organisation (Enterprise bank). Has any bank in the world ever done this remarkable turn-around?

Heritage Bank is a healthy bank and is growing stronger daily. The bank supports SMEs and entrepreneurs. City Supermarket will one day become bigger just like or be like Shoprite because it is a project funded by Heritage Bank. Heritage Bank is also committed to women empowerment as it recently got an award from Oyo State for commitment towards women empowerment and has won many awards.

Oyo State gives an to awards Heritage bank

The Central Bank of Nigeria has reiterated that Heritage Bank is not in distressed, all depositors funds are safe and the bank remains resilient enough to withstand the current economic storm.

Heritage bank is not in distressed
Don't you agree this is one bank with a true heritage?

Decision To Choose Between Debit Card Or Credit Card

Cashless policy is what the nation's apex bank advocate. In this modern era of technological advancement, payment for goods and services comes so easier with the use of electronic payment system.

Shoppers may not need to be present physically to buy items, which indicates that payment can be made online. Usually, payment is done by the use of a card - debit card or credit card. There are still situations one can be in a shop and yet decide not to pay with physical cash. With POS, payment can be made through the use of debit card or credit card. As a spender, which of the cards - Debit Cards or Credit cards best suit your financial goals?

Debit Card

Debit card is a prepaid card that is directly linked to your bank account which you can use to pay for goods online or in shops and also withdraw money from ATM. A debit card allow you to spend only the amount of money you have in your bank account. When you pay for goods, your bank immediately deduct the amount spent. This is more reason why you should always fund your bank account linked to your debit card before making payment online or POS.

Credit Cards

Credit card allow you to pay for goods or services but not linked to a personal bank account but rather to a bank or the financial institution that issued the card. When you use a credit card, the issuer pays the merchant and you go into debt to the card issuer. You are expected to pay back within 30 days or spread it over and incur interest.

Due to security concerns, many have try to inquire of the best credit cards available. Here is an article that highlight the best credit cards of 2016 that will help you make informed decision about your use of credit cards.

Note that the logo of a major credit card company, such as Visa or MasterCard is also on Debit cards. Hence, the logo doesn't make them the same.

My Experience With Domainking.Ng

Being a blogger you must have a blog. And as a serious blogger, you must use a custom domain. People might not actually take you serious when using a sub-domain eg blogspot [dot]com.

In buying domains, I have personally tested different domain registrars and I've chose to stick with Domainking. Ever since I find out about DomainKing, I have been buying domains from them and recently I transfered mazinoweb.com to Domainking.

You might wondering what is special about DomainKing. Well, my experience with Domainking has been more than remarkable.

*. First, Domainking does help to redirect a domain after purchase which most domain registrars won't do for you.

*. DomainKing has an eccentric customer service, responses are prompt. You can contact them on social media, through their live chat on their websites, or through your Cpanel and get satisfying response.

*. Domainking still remain the most reliable, cheapest domain and web hosting providers in Nigeria.

*. Every domain purchase usually comes with two free custom emails.

*. Domainking offers you the best whois protection at no cost.

*. Lastly, CBN policies and many banks suspension of international transactions using naira debit cards doesn't prevent buying domains or hosting plans, as Domainking accept verve card and bank deposit. You can also use your naira debit cards (Mastercard or Visa card) to purchase any service from Domainking.

So, won't you rather buy domains or web hosting plans from Domainking?

How To Stop Receiving Unsolicited Messages From Telecoms Operators

It can be very annoying when your network provider continually send you irrelevant SMS. Most times after you have read and deleted the message, in no time you get SMS notification - you checked and see it is the same message you have read and deleted.

Due to the barrage of complaints on the menace of unsolicited message, The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has swayed into action to allow customers choose what type of messages they want to receive from telecoms operators.

MTN, Glo, Etisalat, Airtel

Now you have the right to stop your network provider from sending you unsolicited messages. To opt out from receiving such SMS, send stop to the short code 2442. Depending on the network, you may get another message requesting you to take further actions.

How I Earned $20,000 Online In A Month Doing Nothing

Forbes! Earned $20,000 online in a month doing nothing? I'm convinced that someone wants to earn such amount of money online with little or no effort.

The title of this post 'how I earned $20,000 online in a month doing nothing' is similar to titles you see online when people want to sell make money information or want people to join to a business or a scheme. Well, some are genuine while others are proven to be a scam or questionable ventures. This is not the avenue to start mentioning such businesses or schemes.

If you are still eager to learn how I earned $20,000 online in a month doing nothing, then read further.

Money is good, money pays the bills but the extreme love of money is a big snare. So many people want to make money at all cost just to live a life of luxury. Sadly, many people don't bother how they tend to make money as long they don't shed blood. You often hear the saying "Did I kill a person?" They believe in the 'make money and enjoy your life while you are alive and die later. But is that all there is to life? There are dire consequences of desperation to make money by all means.

The Outcome Of Trying To Make Money At All Cost

Destroys Good Relationship With The Almighty

Many will say money is evil. That is not true. What is evil is the love of money, the desire to get it at all cost. Anyone desperate to be rich can never remain innocent. That is exactly what the Holy Book says. If you are a true believer, you wouldn't doubt that.

So true are those words today! Many people have soiled their hands and destroyed their good reputation all for the sake of wanting to make money by all means. They engaged in dishonest and sharp practices. They cheat their employers and clients without any troubled conscience. No remorseful attitude and no desire to turn away from dishonesty. If you truly value your relationship with the Almighty, you must be wary of ways you handle money matters.

Betrayal

Best friends are turning to strangers or enemies. Why so? All for the extreme desire to make money at all cost. Some people cherish money so much that they are ready to break ties with their close friends. They don't mind to backstab their friends as long as they become rich.

Disloyalty

So many cases of disloyalty among the religious group, family members, and business partners all in the name of trying to make money by all means. Too bad today that this generation breeds ladies who will quit their marriages if their husbands experience financial difficulties. People abandon their good friends just because they have found someone new who makes more money.

I'm 100% sure that many people reading this post are doing so because of the title. And if I show them prove of $20,000 earning, many will be sending me messages on WhatsApp and BBM. My Facebook inbox will be filled messages as "Boss show me the way", "How did you do it?" My phone will be ringing. People who don't talk to me will begin to claim friendship or relationship that never existed. The ones that have stopped talking to me will come back acting like they have been the busiest humans on planet earth.

Victim of Scam

Anyone can be scammed but 90% of people who fall for scams are greedy people. They want the quick and easy route to make money and as such fraudsters take advantage of them. As people's extreme love of money increases, the easier it is to scam and succeed. The title of this post alone could make many become victim of a scam if I have wanted to defraud them.

Are you disappointed that there is no way I earned $20,000 online monthly doing nothing? lol.

Anyway please know that experience is never a good teacher. Do not fall for a scam before you identify legitimate business and fraudulent ones. Never destroy your conscience because of money. Do not lose a good relationship with the Almighty because of money. Never betray or abandon your friends or family because of money. May the Almighty continue to bless our labor.

Understanding The Cc And Bcc Field When Sending Out Emails

Since the advent of social media, many internet users have prefer sending very important messages via social networking sites. But for those who understand communication etiquettes, email still remain an wholesome way of conveying important information.

When sending emails whether for business dealings or personal endeavors, there is the Cc and Bcc fields and the option to use or ignore it depending on how many recipients is on the list.

What Cc Stands For And What It Does

Cc means carbon copy. When you add more than one email address to the Cc field, all the recipients will know that you send the email to different persons. There is no secret in it. For example, if I send an email by adding both faniran@gmail.com and orosun@gmail.com to the Cc field, Faniran will know I sent the email to Orosun and Orosun will also know I sent the same email to Faniran.

What Bcc Stands For And What It Does

Bcc means blind carbon copy. When you add two or more emails in Bcc field, none of the recipients will know that you sent the same email to others. It is secretive. For example, if I send an email to both faniran@gmail.com and orosun@gmail.com, Faniran won't know I sent the same email to Orosun and Orosun won't know either too that I sent the email to Faniran.

If you send an email by adding Faniran@gmail.com to the Cc field and Orosun@gmail.com is added to the Bcc field, Orosun will know that I sent the email too to Faniran@gmail.com but Faniran won't know I sent the email to Orosun.

Revealing other people's email addresses when sending emails to multiple recipients isn't ideal, therefore understanding how the Cc and Bcc work is very important.

WhatsApp Video Call Launched And Available To All Users

After being tested on beta level, finally, video call on WhatsApp is now available to everyone no matter your country. This new feature has made WhatsApp all-in-one instant messaging app been ahead of every other chat apps with the highest number of users around the world.

I've waited for this rollout knowing that I won't need so many apps at the same time for communication. This is another big competition for Google Duo which was developed for video calling as WhatsApp now has both voice and video call in one app.

Video call release was officially announced on WhatsApp blog saying:

"Our goal at WhatsApp has always been to help as many people as possible stay in touch with friends, family, and others they care about. That means making a product that’s simple, easy to use, and accessible no matter where you are. We started with messaging and Group Chat. Then we added voice calling. And we did it in a way that works across thousands of device and platform combinations all over the world.

Today we’re excited to announce the next step in our efforts to connect people – WhatsApp video calling. In the coming days, WhatsApp's more than one billion users can make video calls across Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone devices.

We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough. There’s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter’s face whiles he’s studying abroad. And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.

Over the years we’ve received many requests from our users for video calling, and we’re excited to finally offer this feature to the world. Thank you for using WhatsApp and we promise to keep working hard every day to improve the service."

Have you started using WhatsApp video call? If yes, what's your take on it?

Social Media And Women Today, The Unproductive Aspect

This post is not misogynistic, it's a factual trend. Social media is the current buzz and many people; males, females, young and old are spending a countless number of hours on it. Social networking sites can be advantageous to it user if harnessed properly. Unfortunately, social media has made many female folks become unproductive.

Social media and women

Today, so many of them are on social media for these following reasons.

To Look For Admirers or Entice a Guy

It is a natural phenomenon that men will admire women and as such when some ladies discover that their photos or posts on social media get more comments and likes from the male folks, it gets into their heads. Then they start uploading more and even explicit photos of themselves. No wonder ladies who are not celebs, with more provocative and suggestive photos on Instagram have more followers.

To Search For The Latest Fashion Accessories

Women love to look good fashion-wise, they want to know what's trending; the latest shoes, dress, handbag, wig and the list continues. Well, this isn't bad but when a woman starts to fantasize having them when she can't afford all those fashionable kinds of stuff, she becomes unproductive.

Searching For Life Partner

This may sound weird but in reality, it's a profound truth. Some girls search for handsome and rich guys on social media and follow them, hoping that they get noticed and the guy strike a conversation which may eventually lead to a relationship. I wish success to any lady searching for a life partner on social media. keep searching! It has turned out good for some and disastrous for others.

There are still other ways some ladies use social media that affects their mental deposition. They see the flamboyant lifestyle of celebrities and they imagine been in the same position. Thus, they struggle to live a life of imitation.

Social media has also increased the spirit of unhealthy competition in the females. For instance, when some single ladies see pre-wedding and exotic wedding photos, they make it an aim that theirs must be same or better. Even the married women have been affected, for instance, when a woman upload the photos of a new car her husband bought for her, another woman somewhere wishes her husband does the same. To her, the lady with the brand new car has the ideal husband. When a man takes his wife abroad on a romantic trip and the photos are on social media, another woman thinks her loving husband isn't doing better.

Single ladies who see the social life of other women how they are treated by their husbands begin to wish their future man does the same. Hence, any man that cannot give them a life of luxury is not a husband material.

Social media life is totally from the real life. Many people who upload happy moments on social media aren't really happy. Nevertheless, there are still so many ladies who use social media productively and are creating wealth from it. They are entrepreneurs, bloggers, influencers and business women.

Nigeria Banks Whose Naira Debit Cards Are Still Enabled For Online Foreign Transactions

The recession in Nigeria is affecting every work of life and have clamp hard on the banking sector. The scarcity of dollar and the high exchange rate has resulted in most commercial banks suspending online, POS and ATM transactions outside Nigeria with Naira denominated cards (MasterCard or Visa).

What this means is that you can't use your Naira debit cards to make online transactions on platforms based outside Nigeria. And also, you cannot use your Naira debit cards to withdraw money from ATM abroad.

Nigerian Banks
Due to this recent market development, most bloggers and internet marketers can't pay for Facebook ads and other services rendered by foreign websites. The only alternative is to request for a foreign currency (FCY) denominated debit card which will be linked to your domiciliary account. That means you have to open a domiciliary account if you don't have one.

If opening a domiciliary account is not possible for you at the moment, you can still go with some few banks that allow you to pay for services online with their Naira debit cards.

In order to know which Nigeria banks currently permit foreign transactions with their Naira debit cards, I contacted the banks. After getting their feedback, I came to know that Access Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank are the ones whose Naira debit cards are still enabled for online international transactions. I should also remind everyone using online transactions to use a VPN to encrypt their online activity for financial security.

Not everyone is a blogger or internet marketer that earns in foreign currency. Thus, sourcing for dollar will be hard for you if you have a domiciliary account. Practical Ways of Monetizing WhatsApp

WhatsApp monetization in this context doesn't mean displaying ads or whatsoever similar to it. It simply means ways you can use WhatsApp beyond the normal chat stuff and use it to earn.

You Can Use WhatsApp to Organize Training or Seminars

This year a few months back, I and a fellow blogger organized an online training on Mastering the act of blogging and blog monetization. This training took place on a WhatsApp group. It wasn't a free training, people who were interested in it paid for it.

Now ask yourself, how can you also do the same? If you are into information marketing and the sales of ebooks or videos seemed not to be profitable as before, then you should you try WhatsApp by creating a group. You can do virtually any training on WhatsApp. What you need is a reliable internet connection, your smartphone or PC and you are good to go.

The benefits of doing training or seminars on WhatsApp is that anyone no matter the location can be a participant. There is no cost of transportation or cost of renting a venue. Participants can go back any time to read the information as long the group is not deleted.

You Can Use WhatsApp To Send News Stories And Get Paid

There are some news websites that want the public to send them authentic eyewitness news which will include the photos/video and they will pay you an amount if the story is published. Make use of such opportunities.

Ways To Get More Instagram Real Followers

Every business needs social media presence and taking your business to Instagram can give you tremendous results. Instagram community is growing daily as more people are joining the social networking site. There are so many Instagram users with a lot of followers and while others have fewer followers.

Women tend to have more followers on Instagram, probably maybe they love taking photos and Instagram is more of photo sharing. Well, I've never really taken Instagram serious until of recent. I used to wonder how do people get many followers, so I decided to experiment. I created an anonymous Instagram account. Now I see how people increase their Instagram followers.

How To Get More Instagram Real Followers

*. Be active.
*. Share interesting photos and videos.
*. Use relevant hashtags on your photos and videos.
*. Tag relevant Instagram users to your posts.
*. Advertise on Instagram.
*. Create posts that prompt others to be tagged.
*. Like others' photos and videos.
*. Comment on relevant posts made by other Instagram users.
*. Do giveaways.
*. Instagram account used for keeping up with friends should be different from the one for business.

These are natural ways to get real Instagram followers. Some people buy followers, but of what use is it to your business if your followers don't match your business goals? In time they will unfollow you. Therefore, attract only Instagram followers who are interested in your business.

Tips For Standing Out On Social Media

Getting in touch with the right audience can be a huge nightmare. There are many channels which are available, but you must ensure the method of choice can reach as many people as possible. The cost of marketing should also be low to decrease overhead costs. Are you looking for the best method? Try social media. Social media provides an ideal platform for marketing.

Being in social media alone is not a guarantee people will read the posted message or see photos. Smart strategies must be employed to stand out among the many similar products. These five tips can make you be on top of the game.
Be Active

Publishing after a long duration turns off the minds of followers and potential followers. If people realize you do not update your page regularly, they stay away. Posting is essential in keeping your followers captivated and expecting something new every day.

Avoid posting offensive messages and photos that might kill your brand. If you do not have something useful to post in a particular time, it is better to remain mute. You may destroy your reputation by posting silly things.

Take Videos

Many people like watching short videos. Film yourself as you walk around your home with a pet like a dog. After posting the video, your followers will be enticed to have a look at it. And if it is a good one, it can easily go viral and have thousands of views.

Get Support of Prominent Personalities

Well, known persons like celebrities can help in making of brands. Use a friend of the prominent person to reach him. Famous persons also want supporters, and they know entrepreneurs can provide the much-needed backup. It can help to expand your followers' base.

What Motivates You

There is something you aim to attain. No person would be happy to be associated with a visionless individual. Feel free to talk about your motivation. Remember to include your passion.

Customize Your Information

Uniqueness is vital in attracting a wide audience. Go an extra mile and have an inspirational message. Great quotes encourage people. Reading magazines, newspapers, and books give the much-needed punches. Great ideas assist much in overcoming the obstacles and having a new lease of hope. Make your social media page the source of inspiring quotes.

How To Change Fonts And Writing Style On WhatsApp

You must have received WhatsApp messages from someone and the texts were having special fonts (bold, italics or strike). A friend of mine has asked me how I was able to write her name having a strike, and I'm sure you must think the same the first time you received a WhatsApp message with special fonts.

WhatsApp introduced the font and writing style to improve the way we chat. You can make a word or sentence bold, italicize or strike it.

This is how to use the feature:

Bold

To bold word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the * character before and after it in this way: *Mazino Oyolo Kigho*. This will make the names bold.

Italic

To italicize word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the _ character before and after it in this way: _Mazino Oyolo Kigho_. This will make the names italicized.

Strike

To strike word(s) or sentences, for example, Mazino Oyolo Kigho, add the ~ character before and after it in this way: ~Mazino Oyolo Kigho~. This will strike the names.

I'm quite sure WhatsApp will introduce more writing style and fonts as time goes on. Make sure you are using the updated WhatsApp version to use this features.

Make Quality Video Calls With Google Duo

Technology is changing the way we communicate - it's becoming more easier with innovative applications. Talking to people and seeing them at the same time despite being in distant location improves communication. Google is helping us communicate better which has been marked by the release of Duo.

Duo is a simple, high-quality video calling mobile chat app available on both Android and iOS. Duo will be competing with other instant messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger, Skype, IMO, WhatsApp and FaceTime. But unlike others, Duo is a standalone video calling app, it is purposed only for video chats. Duo has it unique features which include a simple interface, Knock Knock - a live preview feature that enables you to see the caller before you pick. Duo is a cross-platform app with high-quality video. Duo can dynamically adjust the video and audio quality to suit whatever kind of connection you’re on and can maintain the call even when switching from Wi-Fi to cellular and vice versa.

Many Google apps require signing in with a Gmail account but Duo requires only your mobile phone number. This is so because duo works with phone numbers and not username or password. It like directly calling a number from your phone contact. The recipient must also have the Duo app.

How To Begin With Google Duo

Knowing what Google Duo does, the next step is to begin using it. Duo is very easy to set up. Go to Play store or App store and download it. After that, follow these steps below, to begin with it.

==> Launch the App. The Duo logo will display for some few seconds.

==> You'll get a welcome message, also requesting you to agree to its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You must click on 'I AGREE' to proceed further.

==> Input your phone number and click on 'NEXT'.

==> A verification code will be sent to your phone number by SMS. Type the code. If you didn't receive the code via SMS, then try the CALL ME option.

==> The screenshot below is what you will see after verifying your phone number. Click on the video icon to initiate a video call.

You will see a list of your contacts on DUO and you can invite the ones, not on Duo.

==> To adjust the settings, Click on the three dotted lines at the upper right.

You can decide to turn off vibration, remove live preview (knock knock), unregister your number or block numbers and set a limit on mobile data usage.

Note: Knock knock is available currently only on Android.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having problems verifying your phone number through Duo, try the following steps to finish verifying your phone number:

1. Check your phone number

Make sure your phone number was entered correctly with the right country code.

2. Check for a good Wi-Fi or mobile data connection

Check your settings to make sure WiFi or mobile data is turned on and airplane mode is turned off. Move to where you have a better mobile data connection. Your network signal icon should have at least 1 bar. Test your connections by visiting a website.

3. Make sure that you can get the SMS verification code

Check that your cell signal is on and that your airplane mode is turned off. If your signal is weak, move to where you have a better cell signal. Your network signal icon should have at least 1 bar. Test your connections by sending yourself an SMS.

4. Request a new verification code

On the verification code screen, you can ask for the code again.

If you don’t receive a text message, tap Resend SMS.

If you have a cell connection and aren't getting the SMS, request a call by tapping Call me.

5. Try fixing the app

Quit & restart: Go to your device’s Settings >Apps > Duo > Force Stop. Open Duo again. Uninstall and re-install the app: Try uninstalling Duo. Then re-download Duo and open the app. Restart your phone: Try turning your phone off and turning it back on. Then open Duo again.

If none of the above solve the issue, you can ask questions in the Duo Help Forum.

Twitter Eases 140-Character Tweets Limitation

Social media site, Twitter has announced on Monday 19, September 2016, that it was easing its 140-character limit on tweets, in the latest effort to broaden the appeal and boost the user base of the social network. The new policy announced in May and now in effect no longer factors in certain add-ons, including pictures, into a message’s length.

The San Francisco-based social networking company on its official twitter account tweeted:
“Say more about what’s happening! Rolling out now: photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your140 characters,”.

Social media enthusiasts say the decision to ease 140-character limit on tweets is "too little, too late" which should have been done five years ago.

Will this bring back users who have left twitter as result of frustration of tweet limitations? Well, only time will tell.

5 Simple Ways To Drive Sales on Facebook

Whether it's affiliate marketing, freelance services or your own product , Facebook is a great place to drive sales. The reason is simple, Facebook has over 1 billion users! These are potential buyers of your product and all you need is to engage them. There are simple ways by which you can get more sales on Facebook. It is quite easier than you think.

Facebook
1. Create a Professional Facebook Account

Create a standard Facebook account and add as many people as possible. But mind you, not just anybody! Be selective in adding people. Depending on what you're trying to market, add people that will be interested as this can help boost your conversion. Once your friends know you and get to trust you, expect a huge cash flow. They will recommend you, share your posts and buy from you.

If you're a blog designer, adding music followers will not benefit you in the long run because they will not be interested in online marketing or blog building.

2. Create a Facebook Page

There are many merits of a Facebook page over a Facebook account.

A. You can create ads

B. You can boost posts and select audience

C. You get to see insights

D. You can have more than 5000 likes

These reasons I put above are one of the few reasons why a page trumps a facebook account.

More so, it has a more professional appeal to it and many big brands have a Facebook page which is almost as engaging as their blog site. In fact, some even add call to action buttons and make sales directly from their facebook page. Furthermore, you can as well hire a professional like Mazino to help you build a good page.

With a page, you can add boost posts of your products or services and reach a very wide and targeted audience.

3. Utilize Facebook Groups

If you have a Technology Facebook group that has many users, you can easily post affiliate links, product reviews, or even sell your products. However, don't make the mistake of advertising an affiliate link of phones in a religious Facebook group as it will be seen as spamming.

The good thing about Facebook groups is that you can easily have over 1 million users and it's easy to manage and won't cost you a dime. In short, it's far more cost-effective.

4. Post on Timelines

One of the most underutilized marketing strategies is posting on people's timelines and paradoxically, it's also a widely abused method. No one loves to be spammed. However, there is a better way to go about it. Post timeline updates that will be of benefit to the bearer and his followers. This way, it won't be considered a spam or annoying.

With this method, you can reach new audience, engage your audience properly and drive sales of many sorts.

5. Tags and Hashtags

Make no mistake, these two are not similar. Tags are used to mark a user and attach them to a post. If you tag another influential person in your niche, you get to have their audience attention. However, use this method in a careful way and resist the temptation of overdoing it.

As for Hashtags, you can use specific hashtags to create more awareness for your brands or product and if you're lucky enough, your post can go viral. Twitter users will understand the power of hashtags better.

If you are an online marketer/social media marketer, Facebook is a great way to make money simply by selling services or products.

And listed here are simple tips that are not utilized by many companies and business owners.
