What Makes Google Spaces App Worth Using

Google Spaces is a social networking app for small group sharing. Spaces help you get a group together quickly to share things about any topic. Spaces is available for Android, iOS, desktop, and mobile web for Gmail accounts. Although Spaces do have photo-sharing feature of Pinterest, it does more than that.

Spaces allow individuals to do so much within the app. You can copy and paste links, find and share articles, browse and post videos and images, etc). Spaces is really easy to use and can be fun app too. You can create a group (Space) and invite your friends, family or business associates and share topics that are relevant to the interest of everyone in it. For example, WhatsApp let you create a group where members can interact by sharing links, videos, and photos along with conversations. If you want to share a link or an article to your WhatsApp group, you must leave the app to copy and then return to WhatsApp to paste.

With Google Spaces you don't need to exit the app to find links, articles, videos, and images. That's because Google has built in core services such as Google Search, Chrome, and YouTube. You can simply use the browser on Spaces (powered by Chrome) to find links or use the search field to lookout for information and post to your Space.

Many have wondered what is the future of Google+ after Spaces was launched. Others have argued that there was no point creating a separate app (Spaces), rather it should have been added as of part of Google+ features.

No one knows what Google really want to achieve with Spaces, nevertheless the app is fun to use and it is recommended for anyone who wants to stay in touch with a group of people having similar interests.

WhatsApp Now Shares Users Phone Numbers With Facebook

When Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for $19billion, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said: “It would be pretty stupid of us to interfere.” He said this in a bid to assure users that their data would remain private and it will be separated from Facebook.

In 2016, Mark Zuckerberg seemed to be changing his words as WhatsApp has confirmed it will share users phone numbers with Facebook in order to provide “better friend suggestions and show you more relevant ads”.

The decision to share users phone number with Facebook published on WhatsApp’s blog state:

Today, we’re updating WhatsApp’s terms and privacy policy for the first time in four years, as part of our plans to test ways for people to communicate with businesses in the months ahead. The updated documents also reflect that we’ve joined Facebook and that we've recently rolled out many new features, like end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp Calling, and messaging tools like WhatsApp for web and desktop. You can read the full documents here. We’re notifying everyone on the latest supported versions of our app about these updates, and you’ll be asked to tap ‘Agree’ to accept the updated terms.

People use our app every day to keep in touch with the friends and loved ones who matter to them, and this isn't changing. But as we announced earlier this year, we want to explore ways for you to communicate with businesses that matter to you too, while still giving you an experience without third-party banner ads and spam. Whether it's hearing from your bank about a potentially fraudulent transaction, or getting notified by an airline about a delayed flight, many of us get this information elsewhere, including in text messages and phone calls. We want to test these features in the next several months, but need to update our terms and privacy policy to do so.

We're also updating these documents to make clear that we've rolled out end-to-endencryption. When you and the people you message are using the latest version of WhatsApp, your messages are encrypted by default, which means you're the only people who can read them. Even as we coordinate more with Facebook in the months ahead, your encrypted messages stay private and no one else can read them. Not WhatsApp, not Facebook, nor anyone else. We won’t post or share your WhatsApp number with others, including on Facebook, and we still won't sell, share, or give your phone number to advertisers.

But by coordinating more with Facebook, we'll be able to do things like track basic metrics about how often people use our services and better fight spam on WhatsApp. And by connecting your phone number with Facebook's systems, Facebook can offer better friend suggestions and show you more relevant ads if you have an account with them. For example, you might see an ad from a company you already work with, rather than one from someone you've never heard of. You can learn more, including how to control the use of your data, here.

Our belief in the value of private communications is unshakeable, and we remain committed to giving you the fastest, simplest, and most reliable experience on WhatsApp. As always, we look forward to your feedback and thank you for using WhatsApp.

Understanding Social Media Policy As An Employee

Many who work in an organisation at some point will access social networking sites either for personal reasons or for the sake of their job. As an employee or a corporate representative of a company, it is important to know that social media policy exist.

Social media policy, also known as social networking policy is a corporate code of conduct that provides guidelines for employees when posting content on the internet. The purpose of a social media policy is to ensure that whatever an employee is posting on social media will not result in legal problems or tarnish the image of an organisation. Every brand has its own social policy to govern employees on how they use social media especially if they have identified themselves as representatives.

Every organisation cares about reputation which can either be boosted or destroyed by employee(s) with what they post on social media. There are have been cases where some employees were sacked for the misuse of social media. This could also happen to anyone who disregards social networking policy.

If you are new in your place of work, ensure that you enquire about the social media policy. If your company don't have any, make sure you are careful in using social networking sites. Many employers don't want to see their staff using Facebook or Twitter during work time. If there is no restriction on the use of social media, it is very important that there should be a limitation in the time spent on the internet during working hours except the nature of the job require the use of social networking sites or you are a social media manager.

Things You Shouldn't Post On Social Media

Social media is one of the best online communication channels to get news, market products, promote brands, connect with customers and reach out to loved ones. Social media is all about networking. Social media has benefitted brands, businesses and individuals. Some examples of popular social media are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+ and Reddit.

Social media is used by both young and old people. Despite its advantages, social media can have a negative effect on you. How so?

Today, many are carefree with the use of social media. Many people post just anything they like at any point in time without thinking about the implications. For example, a man once tweeted "No other job better than a blow job." To him this may be mere joke - catching the fun but that only tweet made him lose a lucrative job opportunity.

Some employers look beyond the CV you have submitted. They go through your social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or Blog). They want to actually know if you can represent their organization well beyond the four walls of the office.

The Lesson

Always be mindful or what you post on social networking sites. It may hunt and hurt you in years to come. Many ladies love taking pics and uploading on their social media pages and adding caption. This is not bad but then, never upload sexually explicit photos of yourself. Only celebrities who live wayward life can upload just anything about themselves on the internet without thinking about the implication because the pervasive world celebrates them. If you do, it can affect you badly sooner or later.

We all have freedom of speech but sometimes freedom of speech may not guarantee you freedom after speech. Criticism is allowed in every society but be cautioned. If you choose to criticize the government, be wise about it. You never can tell when you may seek a government job. You never can tell when you may need grant from the government. Above all, you never can tell when what you posted become a crime.

Contact Information

For business we want customers to contact us. Adding your business contact details to your social media pages let people know your business is real, but never make that mistake of adding the address of your house.

Many people make that mistake of adding their house address to their Facebook profile. What this means is that if anyone choose to harm you, it is very much possible. It a matter of tracing you with your house address.

It is also not ideal to add your work details. Even if you don't add the address, it is very much possible to find you when the need arises. For example, if you work for A and B Limited and you added it on your profile with no address, anyone can just use Google search or business directories to find the exact location of your workplace. I am not saying it is bad to add your work details but be discrete about it.

Material Possessions

If you are not a public figure, never show the world your material possessions. We live in a time where you can't really tell who is who. Wickedness abound, men have advanced from bad to worst. Showy display of one means of life can be dangerous. Some have learnt in way a hard way. You don't need to experience a bad ordeal to know whether experience is the best teacher.

Social media has change our lives in so many ways, therefore us let use it wisely.

Facebook is the market place when it comes to advertising your business on social media. Some other social media sites offer advertising but Facebook is the largest community of all.

Facebook pages are designed to enable individuals and business owners build an online community and also promote their business or content. So if you are ready to take your business to Facebook for a wider reach, then you should own a page. There are many tutorials online to guide you in creating a Facebook page, so get a hold on them and get started.

If you already have an active Facebook page, you can start advertising. I have outline a simple process of getting started. Depending on what you are promoting, adding the content to your page allows you to boost a post. You should click on Boost Post.

Choosing Your Audience

Do not choose people who like your page and their friends. You will not have much reach. Tick People you choose through targeting.

If your business is relevant to only Nigerians, then choose only Nigeria. If what you are advertising affects other locations, you should choose more countries.

Some people will leave this blank while others will add audience interests. When you add interests, Facebook will help you reach specific audiences by looking at their interests, activities, the pages they have liked, and closely related topics.

If you are promoting a sexual health product, you must choose 18 and above. But if it's a product such as mobile phones, you can choose 13 and above. Read Facebook advertising guidelines and policy for more information.

If your product, service or content is gender specific, then you should choose either Male or Female. But if it relevant to both Male and Female, then choose Both.

Choosing Your Budget

Your budget can determines how far and how well your ad will go. Facebook offers you different billing currencies. I'm on dollar billing. You can choose which currency suits you. Choose the amount you wish to spend. You are allow to spend a minimum of $1 per day.

This option allows to set how many days you want your advert to run.

Finally, Click on Boost. Your ad will be reviewed before it is approved.

If you haven't set your advertising account before now, you'll be taken to a page where you will be required to fill your payment details. Make sure your card is enabled for online transactions before proceeding. If not, Facebook will reject it and and you won't be able to run any ad.

Note: The images from this post are from Facebook page manager app. You may not have exact interface when you are using your mobile or web browsers. Facebook has advertising guidelines and policy. You cannot just promote whatever you like. If your advert violates their policy, your advertising account will be disabled. If your advert did not meet their advertising guidelines, your advert will be disapproved.

If you need any other clarification, feel free to contact me.

Why You Need Facebook For Your Business

Facebook started just like any other social networking sites, but as of today, it is the biggest social media platform the world has ever had. At present, Facebook has over a billion monthly active users. If Facebook was a country, it will become one of the most populous nation in the world.

What this mean to business owners

Depending on your reasons for using Facebook, it is more than a social networking site for connecting with friends, family and loved ones. Facebook is a focal point for getting your business to millions of people around the world.

Whether you run an online or offline business, you need Facebook to tell people about your business. Promoting your business on Facebook can come from referrals or direct advertisement.

When you post on your timeline about your business, those on your friend list get to see the service or product you are selling. If they are interested in it, they may contact you. If they are not interested in your business, they may still refer someone to you who may be in need of what you are offering or selling. It either they tag you or share what you posted about your business.

Advertising is a core means for any business owner who want to get potential customers which will eventually leads to return of investment. Currently, advertising on Facebook is the cheapest and more effective means of reaching so many people irrespective of their location, age or gender.

I must admit at this point, that Facebook adverts has enabled me to reach a lot of people in different countries. As an online publisher, I must reach people with my content. Search engine optimization cannot do it alone. Hence, I spend on advertising on Facebook.

It is not uncommon to see big business brands using Facebook to promote their offline business. Airline companies, universities, telecom operations, and others uses Facebook to build and maintain their brand name.

Advertising on Facebook means you have to create a page. Creating a Facebook page is easy and it free. To maintain the page requires effort. You can run your page yourself or employ the services of a social media manager. You can hire me to run and maintain your Facebook page for you.
In subsequent posts, we'll look at how you can start advertising on Facebook to promote your business.

Domainking Affiliate Program Is Genuine

Affiliate marketing shouldn't be a strange word to anyone who is a blogger or an internet marketer. Domainking is a global domain registrar and web host whose primary services are domain name, web hosting, wordpress hosting  and website design.

Domainking has an affiliate program that allows anyone to earn commission from users who sign up from a promoted link/banner and complete their hosting orders.

In recent times, there have been disbelieves that domainking affiliate program is real. Many bloggers say they have referred a lot of people as shown in their affiliate report and yet nothing has been earned. Anyway I decided to give them chance and the story was quite different from what some say about it. I added domainking affiliate  banner to my blog. My intention was not because I want to make money from the domainking affiliate but determine its credibility.

As can be seen in the screenshot above from my own report,  numbers of visitors referred is 205 and  numbers of signups is 5.  At this point, some people say they have gotten signups too but yet they didn't earn a dime.

At this point, some people say they have gotten signups too but yet they didn't earn a dime. As seen from the second screenshot below, the 5 people who signup through my link made purchases and commission was gotten.

Commissions Pending Maturation refer to the commissions that have not yet matured & will be available in your balance in 45days.

Available Commissions Balance  refers to the affiliate balance that you can withdraw now.

Domainking affiliate program is real. The wrong thinking by some affiliate marketers of the domainking program is that since they referred a lot of people and also has signups, they should have gotten commission. They fail to realize that purchases must be made. If domainking was paying for signups alone, then I should create like 50 accounts and signup through my affiliate link so that I can get lots of commission. Funny indeed!

I feel the report parameters should be changed. Number of Visitors Referred should be changed to Numbers of Visits or Clicks. It is believed by some that the people they referred must determine their commission which is true in some affiliate programs. I hope domainking starts giving commissions for referrals on domain name purchase soon.
