Twitter Eases 140-Character Tweets Limitation

Social media site, Twitter has announced on Monday 19, September 2016, that it was easing its 140-character limit on tweets, in the latest effort to broaden the appeal and boost the user base of the social network. The new policy announced in May and now in effect no longer factors in certain add-ons, including pictures, into a message’s length.

The San Francisco-based social networking company on its official twitter account tweeted:
“Say more about what’s happening! Rolling out now: photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your140 characters,”.

Social media enthusiasts say the decision to ease 140-character limit on tweets is "too little, too late" which should have been done five years ago.

Will this bring back users who have left twitter as result of frustration of tweet limitations? Well, only time will tell.
